The Whigs - Mission ControlAfter spending 2006 and half of 2007 on the road, the Whigs headed to Los Angeles in the summer of 2007 to craft their second record, “Mission Control.” Instead of the empty fraternity house used to record “Fat Lip,” the band holed up in Hollywood’s legendary Sunset Sound / The Sound Factory for two months. The studio, which has played host to rock artists such as the Doors, Janis Joplin, and Led Zeppelin provided the Whigs with a historic backdrop for the construction of their second record. Produced and mixed by Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith, Guided By Voices) and engineered / mixed by Doug Boehm (French Kicks), the record was released in January of 2008 by ATO Records.
Rock on!
